Today I ventured out onto the frozen surface of Lake Nipissing. It’s the first time I had been out there this Winter, and the first time with a camera in hand. I took this one of some ice fishing huts not too far from shore.

This is a table and three seats made of cement. It sits in a small public plaza in the heart of downtown North Bay. In the Summer months you can play chess on this table. (It looks very much like this one in San Juan, Puerto Rico.) But in the winter months the chess games have to be taken indoors!

While walking along the CN Rail train tracks here in North Bay I spotted a short bit of black, rubber tie-down cord hanging on a chain link fence.
